At Harju Elekter, multiple projects are underway simultaneously, material requirements vary, and schedules are subject to change. At Harju Elekter, Monitor ERP is not just a production planning tool. The system is also an integral part of the daily work of production employees.
Employees can use the system to view the progress of their own work, the number of remaining work hours, and the status of the components needed for the job. This makes it easier to understand the status of their own work and the next steps.
It also makes it easier to track working hours and resume work, since Monitor remembers the task that’s in progress. For example, an employee doesn’t need to remember the job number from their previous shift when they resume work.
Monitor also shows me whether the components I need for my work are on their way. The system is really easy to use.
When the necessary information is readily available, employees can track the progress of their own work and respond to situations during the workday.
Materials must be kept with the projects
Since the products being manufactured are largely one-of-a-kind items, material requirements also vary from project to project. The availability of materials and their smooth flow between the warehouse and production are therefore a key part of production management.
Information flows between the warehouse and production via Monitor ERP. The system is used for receiving and shipping goods, managing storage locations, transferring items between storage locations, conducting continuous inventory, and performing ABC classification.
Inventory management can also be adapted to changing needs. Storage locations are not tied to specific products; instead, they can be used flexibly as needed.
Ultimately, the efficiency of material flows is also reflected in delivery reliability. If the necessary materials are not in the right place at the right time, the effects ripple out from production all the way to the customer.
The same information benefits the entire company
In addition to production, Harju Elekter uses Monitor ERP for logistics, inventory management, accounting, and fixed asset tracking. With data from different functions in the same system, the entire operation can be viewed holistically, from production to finance.
